21 officers honoured for saving lives at sea

Twenty-one members of the Force, comprising a Chief Inspector, an Inspector, four Sergeants, five Senior Police Constables, eight Police Constables and two Traffic Wardens, have been awarded with the Director of Marine's Commendation for saving lives at sea last year.

The officers received their awards from the Acting Director of Marine, Mr Roger Tupper, on March 19, together with seven other recipients, including three crew members from the "Star" Ferry Company and a fireman from the Fire Services Department.

The officers are CIP Neil Andrew Taylor, IP Wong Kwong-lok, SGTs Cheng Kam-hung, So Wing-chuen, Cheng Yan-chau and Wong Hing-nin, SPCs Law Tak-man, Keung Kam-ping, Cheung Chi-yu, To Fat and Chiu Hoi-lam, PCs Chow Lun, Cheung Kim-ching, Ip Yiu-wing, Wong Ching-to, Wong Wai-yung, Cheung Wah-yuk, Tam Kin-pong and Lau Kin-tung, and Traffic Wardens Leung Kwok-wang and Yuen Kai-cheung. Altogether, they have saved six women and five men in the harbour and at the sea in Kowloon and the New Territories.
