To strengthen professional training and improve work efficiency and quality, New Territories North Regional Crime Headquarters held another "Best Practical and Experience Sharing Workshop" recently.

At the workshop, Dr Bobby S. F. Shum, Consultant Pathologist of Forensic Pathology Service, Government Laboratory, conducted discussions on various traumas and suspicious deaths. Four chemists from the Forensic Science Division, Government Laboratory, also attended the workshop to share their experience with participants who raised many questions for discussions.

The workshop, the 11th since 2002, was popular with officers from the Region, attracting over 40 participants, including colleagues from New Territories South Regional Crime.

The workshop has been held at New Territories North Crime Headquarters since June 2002 for inspectorate officers attached to Crime Units of different levels within the Region. It is held in the format of symposium after work and supervisors or experts of different departments are invited to give talks on subjects relevant to crime investigation, such as the strategy for witness protection and the investigation techniques of computer crime and illegal soccer gambling, etc.

Senior Superintendent Leung Ka-ming of New Territories North Regional Crime Headquarters pointed out that through symposiums and discussions during the workshop, officers at different levels could exchange, share and discuss their working experience and knowledge, as well as what they had learnt from work, so as to enhance work efficiency and provide quality service.

Also strengthening communication among colleagues, the workshop will be held on a regular basis.

Experience-sharing workshop is well received by officers
