The Lantau District Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) has organised a workshop with the Guidance and Discipline Sections of Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) to study the problem of bullying in school and to explore the ways of creating a "harmonious school".

Over 250 teachers, discipline masters, headmasters and social workers from the district had attended the workshop, which was conducted by the Lantau District Police Community Relations Officer Cheung Ka-chun, together with an educational psychology specialist, an educational psychologist and school development officers from the EMB.

The participants were given a better understanding of the problem of bullying in school, and were trained on the strategies of assessing and addressing the problem, as well as helping students to handle their emotional and psychological behaviour.

The PCRO also took the opportunity to explain the Force's concern about, and assistance for the problem.

During the workshop, group discussions, role-play and sharing of skills and experience had drawn enthusiastic response from the participants. In conclusion, they felt that the workshop had provided positive information, and enhanced the liaison between teachers and the Force's school liaison officers.

"Harmonious school" workshop is well received by participants
