Talks on local Muslims
Over 100 officers have gained a better understanding of the local Muslim community following talks given by two representatives of the Islamic Union of Hong Kong on April 17 at the invitation of the Force.
The talks, which formed part of the Management Development Programme, were given by Imam Uthman Yang Xing Ben and Mr Abdool Ramjahn, Publicity & Publication Committee Chairman, both from the Islamic Union of Hong Kong.
The talks mainly covered an introduction on the religion of Islam, history and culture of the Muslims in Hong Kong, the Islamic organisations in Hong Kong, means of communications with the Muslim community and the taboos in dealing with the community.
