Inspector Leung Chung-man has chalked up a total of 10 "distinctions" and one "great credit" in three Inspectorate Professional Examinations since June 2002.

According to the exam results released last month, he scored four "distinctions" in the Standard III Inspectorate Professional Examination in one sitting.

Earlier in January 2003, he scooped three "distinctions" and one "great credit" in the Standard II Inspectorate Professional Examination.

Before passing out from Police Training School, he obtained three "distinctions" in the Standard I Inspectorate Professional Examination and won the Baton of Honour and the Commissioner's Certificate of Academic Merit.

The 25-year-old Inspector joined the Force in November 2001 after obtaining a bachelor's degree with first class honours in business administration at the University of Hong Kong.

Before joining the Force, he had worked with an information technology consultancy firm for one year, but later found the job unsuitable for him because moneymaking brought him little job satisfaction. "I preferred jobs that would enable me to serve the community. As I always have a lot of admiration for police work, and as I like sports, I eventually quit to join the Force," said Mr Leung.

However, he pointed out that his past work experience had improved his problem-solving skills, and hence, helped him pass the Inspectorate exams.

Mr Leung is currently working with the Police Tactical Unit "C" Company. Before that, he had worked in the Tin Shui Wai Division Patrol Sub-Unit. For the future, he hopes to gain exposure to crime investigation.
