Printing Worksheets in Excel (6)

1 Photo

This is the last episode of this series and I will continue introducing the remaining details of the "Sheet" tab and their corresponding functions.

Print

It provides the following options:

* Gridlines

Select this check box to print the gridlines shown on the Excel window together with the worksheet content.

* Black and white

You need not select this check box if a colour printer is used. It allows you to print the worksheet or chart objects, which are not completely white (or in darker colour), in black and those, which are not completely black (or in lighter colour), in white.

* Comments

Select this check box to print the comments in the cells on another page.

* Row and Column headings

Select this check box to print the column names and the row numbers on the paper. Take the last worksheet as the example, we will have the print-out with the column names and the row numbers as follows.

* Draft quality

Select this check box to speed up the print time by not printing the gridlines and only printing the graphics in lower resolution.

Page order

Select this check box only when the worksheet cannot be printed on one page. You may use the following options to control the page number and the print order.

* Down, then over

Start numbering and printing downwards from the top left of the first page, then move up to the top right of the page and go downwards again (See Figure 2).

Figure 2

* Over, then down

Start numbering and printing rightwards from the top left of the first page, then move down to the bottom left of the page and go rightwards again (See Figure 3).

Next time, I will talk about another function of Excel.

"Sharing IT as it applies to your daily life."
