Organised Crime and Triad Bureau Chief Superintendent Fung Kin-man recently gave a talk on the situation of transnational organised crime (TNOC) in the Asia-Pacific Region to nine senior overseas police officers attending a four-month International Strategic Leadership Programme (ISLP) at the Centrex in Bramshill, UK, which was formerly known as Police Staff College.

This was the first time that a Force representative be invited to address course members of the ISLP in recognition of the Force's major roles in fighting TNOC in the region.

In his talk, Mr Fung highlighted the complexities of investigating TNOC, the different methods of laundering money and the Force's experience and achievement in tackling TNOC. He also appealed for support by the course members' countries in strengthening international co-operation on the issue.

The course instructor, Mr John Abbott, on behalf of Centrex, thanked the Force and Mr Fung for their support to the ISLP. Having worked in the Force on a two-year secondment from the Sussex Police in the mid-eighties, Mr Abbott is not a stranger to the Force, and is very pleased that the Force plays a major role in fighting TNOC and works closely with other international law enforcement agencies.

Also attending Mr Fung's talk were Senior Superintendents Sonny Au Chi-kwong, who was undertaking the ISLP course, and Mr Bernie So, who was on secondment to Centrex.
