The government subvented "New Family" conducted the seminar at the request of Woman Police Constable Chan Yin-ha from EU KW's No. 3 Platoon, who has been manning the hotline service of the "Harmony House" as a volunteer, providing assistance to families suffering from domestic violence or marital problems.

She felt that the experience of her volunteer work was relevant to police work.

At the seminar, EU KW officers and social workers shared their experiences and views of the problems of domestic violence, and discussed matters of mutual concerns and ways to better serve people affected by problems. The seminar had also enhanced co-operation and understanding between non-governmental agencies and the Force.
