In Excel, you can extend the series of data contained in the cells by dragging the fill handle. Types of the extended series include:

* Sun, Mon, ......

* Sunday, Monday, ......

* Jan, Feb, ......

* January, February, ......

* 週日,週一,......

* 星期日,星期一,......

* 一月,二月,......

* 第一季,第二季,......

* 正月,二月,......

* 子,丑,......

* 甲,乙,......

Let's see the real example:

1. Create the data sheet below and select A1: A3.

2. Drag the fill handle to E3 and get the following result:

Controlling the Increment in the Series

When you wish to extend the numeric series by one across the cells, you can drag the fill handle while pressing the <Ctrl> key.

Take another example:

1. Create the data sheet below.

2. Press the <Ctrl> key as you drag the fill handle to A6 and the result is:

Filling in the Adjacent Cells by Linear Trend

If you wish to extend the series by say, other than one, you can create the trend values across the adjacent cells first before you start dragging the fill handle.

Let's look at the following example, in which the series is extended by three across the cells.

1. Input the values in cells A1 and A2 as follows:

2. Drag the fill handle to A6 and the result is:

In fact, you can also create a customized fill series for entries other than numbers. I will talk about it next time. "Sharing IT as it applies to your daily life."
