Workshop on anti-bookmaking

Crime Kowloon West (KW) recently hosted an anti-bookmaking workshop at KW Regional Headquarters for officers of all ranks from Regional and Divisional Special Duty Squads in KW.

The workshop began with Senior Superintendent Leung Ka-ming introducing two "gambling experts" from Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Senior Inspector Wan Man-chung and Sergeant Ling Sai-ki, both of whom offered valuable advice on the effective ways to handle and collect exhibits at crime scenes.

The guest speakers also illustrated in details the prevailing situation in football bookmaking and illegal Mark Six. The audience showed a keen interest when they delved into the betting odds in certain uncommon games of bookmaking, namely "Underground Mark Six" and "Thai Style Mark Six".

At the end of the workshop, the audience hoped that more similar workshops would be held in the future. Clearly it had been a rewarding 90-minute session for the officers, especially those few who attended the workshop in their own spare time.
