Force volunteers boost safety on hiking trails

About 340 Force members and their families helped boost safety on hiking trails in Kam Shan Country Park on Sunday, October 3, and at the same time pursuing a healthy lifestyle. They were participating in a mass-hiking trip organised by the Police Volunteer Services Corps (PVSC) and Police Adventure Club (PAC) with a view to enabling Force members to combine community services with an outdoor exercise.

The event kicked off at the Kam Shan Country Park when the volunteers, led by Director of Operations Yam Tat-wing, split into 10 groups for different routes, reminding hikers they met to be more wary of their own safety and handing out copies of a leaflet on safety hints for hikers. On the trails, they also watched out for anything suspicious. It was the first such hiking trip organised by the PVSC and PAC, and more will be held in the next three months. It is expected that at least eight trips will be held per month.

Those who are interested in joining the trips or getting in touch with the contact persons may visit the PAC's website at www.pac.says.it.
