This year's Henry Shield Relay, held at Aberdeen Reservoir Country Park on October 26, saw two new records set by runners from Kowloon West Emergency Unit. Clerical Assistant Lee Yin-ping set a new record of 14 minutes and 40 seconds in the "Fastest Leg (Lady)" event, while Senior Inspector Andrew Naylor clocked 10 minutes and 59 seconds in the "Fastest Leg (Male Open)" event. Meanwhile, the honour of being the "Overall Fastest Team" went to Police Tactical Unit Headquarters, which clocked 48 minutes and 33 seconds. Two PTU HQ runners, Chief Inspector Ian Strange and Sergeant Lee Kam-shun, won the "Fastest Leg (Men's Veteran)" with 12 minutes and 47 seconds, and "Fastest Leg (Men's Senior)" with 12 minutes and 44 seconds respectively. Director of Operations Yam Tat-wing was on hand to present prizes to team and individual winners. The annual relay race again proved very successful, with 65 teams having registered for the event. Full results of the race have been put on Police Athletics Club's webpage on POINT. | |||
