As searching of confined spaces onboard vessels intercepted at sea is a daily occurrence for its officers, Marine Region recently held a series of seminars on the inherent dangers of this task for its officers.

Held at the Marine Police Training School, the seminars were provided for the Region's 142 Police Launch Engineer Officers who are responsible for most of the search work conducted at sea. Representatives from the Force Search Unit, Fire Services Department, Customs and Excise Department and the Maritime Service Training Institute had provided input at the seminars.

The seminars offered the officers an opportunity to share experiences of search work, and helped enhanced interaction among the departments represented at the seminars.
