The cheque was accepted by the Chairman of the Chest's Campaign Committee, Mr Raymond Or.

Mr Lee thanked everyone involved in making the event a success, as well as the generosity of all donors.

Mr Or thanked the Bank of China (Hong Kong) for their sponsorship which had enabled the Chest to allocate the donation without deduction of expenses for the benefit of over 140 charitable organisations.

The two-day Carnival has attracted over 30,000 visitors with a rich and exciting programme of various performances and 60 static displays on police work.
