Questions: "I hurt my right hand whilst playing tennis and the doctor granted me five days sick leave. Having rested for three days, I feel I have recovered. I returned to the office to cancel my sick leave on the fourth day and accomplish the jobs on hand. However, my supervisor has asked me to provide further medical proof, otherwise I can't return to work. In fact, I do not want to take further sick leave. Why can't I cancel my sick leave myself and resume duty?"

Answer: According to CSR 1273(5), an officer may resume duty before the expiry of any sick leave already granted, provided that he can produce a medical certificate to prove his fitness to perform duties.
