Information Services Department Acting Chief Information officer, Gordon Tam Yook-bun, took up his appointment as Chief Information and Publicity Officer (CIPO) of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) on October 17.

Prior to this appointment, he has worked in the information and public relations units of a number of government departments, including the Leisure and Cultural Services Department immediately before his transfer to PPRB.

Mr Tam is no stranger to police information and public relations work, and the new appointment is his fourth posting to PPRB, having worked as an Information Officer (News) from 1978 to 1979, Principal Information Officer (Media) from 1993 to 1995, and Principal Information Officer (Publicity & Publications) from 2000 to 2002.

And he is looking forward to the challenges of his new job. He recalled: "I enjoyed very much my previous postings to PPRB, which were also a rewarding, satisfying and exciting experience for me. I'm glad that I can come back and work for PPRB again after an absence of almost four years. For me, it's just like coming home!"

"I'm coming back with many fond memories, particularly the police recruitment film in 2002, which received a lot of favourable comments both inside and outside the Force," he added.

Mr Gordon Tam
