If language is the art of communication, then the English Conversation Circle could be just the opportunity you are seeking. Recognising a big demand among Force members and their families for opportunities to speak English in an informal and non-judgemental environment, the Police English Club held two English Conversation Circle sessions recently, with native English-speaking members of the Club's Executive Committee acting as facilitators to provide advice on pronunciation and idiom. After the last session, organiser Mark Anstiss commented: "The Club is delighted with the enthusiasm the sessions have generated. There were 26 participants tonight with a great mix ranging from Form 5, 6 and 7 students, civilian staff and family members to serving officers of all ages and from many different units. They enjoyed themselves and many promised they would attend our future sessions. That is very encouraging. "The facilitators are generously giving up their free time to provide a worthwhile service to members and it is nice to see that their efforts have paid off."
The next session is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Monday, November 7 in the G/F Conference Room of PSRC. Details will be posted on the Force NoticeBoard.
