The Police Tactical Unit Team retained the title of the fastest team on the 3.2 km course of the Matilda Hospital Sedan Chair Race on Sunday, November 13. The event was once again started off by Commissioner Lee Ming-kwai, who gave sterling support to the team and cheered on them as they crossed the finish line. Unlike recent years, the race was a closely fought tactical battle with the Force Team being closely followed by a determined Fire Services Team right to the finish line. The start of the event was ferocious with both teams jockeying for position on the narrow course, but the Force Team managed to gain a slight lead at the start that was extended over the closing section of the course. The event, which is in its 31st year to raise funds for charities that do not benefit from the Community Chest, still welcomes donations, which can be sent to Chief Inspector Ian Strange at PTU HQ with cheques payable to "Matilda Charities Fund". Please mark the envelope "Sedan Chair Race". Donations exceeding $100 are tax deductible and receipts will be issued. More details of the event are available at the website www.sedanchairace.org
