Fight crime day camp
for ethnic minorities

In view of the increasing numbers of children and teenagers from the ethnic minorities living in Yuen Long, the Yuen Long Fight Crime Committee, in conjunction with the Yuen Long Police District and the Chomolongma Multi-cultural Community Centre at Yuen Long Town Hall, recently held a day camp at the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre to disseminate fight crime messages in an open and rural setting.

The School Liaison Officer from the Yuen Long Police Community Relations Office hosted a seminar on the laws of Hong Kong and the general duties of the police. The subsequent quiz session was conducted in a euphoric and harmonious atmosphere.

The participants from South Asian ethnic groups later commented that through the day camp they not only understood how to prevent crime but also had a chance to meet the police at a close range and to acquire the knowledge not available in classroom.
