The Force has won two departmental awards and two team awards in this year's Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme.

At the prize presentation-cum variety show of the award scheme held in Queen Elizabeth Stadium on December 2, the Force took the first runner-up title of the Best Public Image Award and a Merit Award of the Service Enhancement Award for large departments.

In the team award section, the Force won the Merit Award for Internal Service with Staff Relations Group's Healthy Lifestyle Programme, and the Merit Award for Innovation/Application of Technology with Border District's 3rd generation Under Vehicle Surveillance System.

In a short video screened at the prize presentation ceremony, the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, extended congratulations to the winning teams and departments, and encouraged civil servants to continue offering their best service with dedication and professionalism.

"Civil servants must strive to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of service to the public. Apart from responding promptly to public needs, civil servants should strengthen inter-departmental co-operation, and adopt proactive and innovative measures to improve service delivery," he noted.

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joseph WP Wong, also congratulated the winning teams and departments, and paid tribute to all the civil servants who have been providing excellent services to the public "day in and day out".

The Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme is an annual event organised by the Civil Service Bureau to promote a customer-oriented culture. The scheme has been expanded to include a number of new awards, and has received 137 entries from 45 departments this year.
