At a recent ceremony held in Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, Assistant Commissioner (Support) Blaine Hoggard presented Police Long Service Clasps and Medals, Long and Meritorious Service Awards and Commanding Officer's Commendations to 40 disciplined and civilian officers in Support Wing.

In noting the recent "formidable challenge faced by the Force when Hong Kong hosted the WTO Ministerial Conference", Mr. Hoggard praised Support Wing officers' commitments to contributing to not only logistical support but also deployment on the ground.

Looking ahead, Mr. Hoggard told the award recipients: "There are many challenges awaiting us. With particular reference to the Commissioner's Operational Targets for 2006, Support Wing will play a major role in policy planning and development, to both support and enable frontline operational units to meet the targets for the year ahead. With the steadfast and continued support of you all, we shall acquit ourselves in the same highly professional manner that Support Wing, and you all, are deservedly recognised for."
