KCDIST officers thanked for foiling burglary
A Kowloon City resident recently called at Hung Hom Police Station to thank the police for foiling a burglary at her home, and to present banners to Kowloon City District Commander Fan Sik-ming and the officers who had arrested the suspect of the case.
In the evening of last October 27, a man climbed up a drainage pipe from a rear lane, pulled open a window of the resident's flat and tried to enter a bedroom. Fortunately officers carrying out surveillance in the vicinity of the flat saw all this, and immediately arrested the man.
Following further enquiries, it was found that the man was involved in nine burglaries in Kowloon West, and part of the stolen articles were recovered. The man was subsequently charged with 10 counts of burglary.
