Friendship and camaraderie were the order of the day when around 5,000 members of the Auxiliary Police and their families participated in the 5th Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Sports and Family Day held in the Police Sports and Recreation Club on January 15.

The fun-filled day was packed with sports competitions, performances by the popular Police Dog Unit, Auxiliary Police Band and the invincible Police Boxing Club, as well as the game stalls and display booths set up by the discipline services, Police Tactical Unit, Road Safety Unit of Traffic Kowloon West, Police Handicraft Club, and Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Association.

Elite sportsman from the Force, Immigration Department, Correctional Services Department, Fire Services Department, Civil Aid Service, Auxiliary Medical Services and St. John Ambulance Brigade also took part in the event and pitted their skills against Auxiliary officers in tug-of-war, basket-shooting and indoor rowing. In vying for trophies, both the host and guests, most importantly, were able to renew friendship.

The day culminated with Kowloon East Region Auxiliary winning the overall Regional Championship.
