Having attended the workshops organised by the famous child psychiatrist, Daniel Siegel, in the US, former Force Training Officer Patrick Kung will be the guest speaker to share a very new and innovative parenting idea with the audience in the Kowloon East Family Life Education Programme to be held at the Breakthrough Youth Camp on March 19.

Featuring the theme of "Resilient Parents, Resilient Children", the programme aims at outlining how one's childhood experiences would actually shape one's parental roles. Based on cutting edge research and innovative theories, Patrick will present the "art and science" of building and nurturing relationships with our children and helping with the development of their mind, emotional well-being, and psychological resilience.

Being the last one in the current financial year, the KE Family Life Education Programme promises to offer a meaningful family day for Force members. Situated half way up the A Kung Kok Shan, the Breakthrough Youth Camp commands a panoramic view of Shatin and Tolo Harbour as well. Apart from the guest lecture, the programme will also offer a buffet lunch, film show, family educational workshop, visit to the HK Heritage Museum, talk on Chinese medicine and health by TSRO WTSDIST Lawrence Lo, and lucky draw.

The programme fees are $30 per person for disciplined and civilian members as well as their families, and $70 for friends and relatives of Force members. It is free of charge for children under three. Those wishing to purchase tickets may approach any KE TSROs. For enquiries, contact the KE Welfare Office at 2304-1404.
