The "Action to Fight Crime - Hong Kong Inter-School Video Shooting Competition" co-organised by Kowloon City District and Shun Hing Technology Company Limited, successfully concluded with a prize presentation recently.

Deputy Commissioner (Management) Fung Siu-yuen and Vice Chairman of Shun Hing Group, Mr David Mong Tak-yeung, performed the officiating ceremony, immediately after Kowloon City District Commander Fan Sik-ming declared the event open in the presence of 300 guests and winners.

Among the guests presenting prizes to the winners and runners-ups were Acting Chief Superintendent of Police Public Relations Branch Cheung Tak-keung, film producer and director, Mr Derek Yee, and representatives from various co-organisers, namely Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, eTV of Radio-Television Hong Kong, Education and Manpower Bureau and Media Intelligence.

Around 100 schools took part in the competition with video productions of a very high standard, resulting in an intense competition. The participants were students from post-secondary schools, secondary schools and primary schools, and the winners and runners-up were picked by a selection panel and online voting by the public. To encourage online voting, the competition offered two special prizes for a quiz on "Who is the Champion" and "My Favourite Video Clip". The quiz results were only announced at the ceremony, adding a few extra exciting moments for the audience.

All the winning video clips would be uploaded to eTV of the Radio-Television Hong Kong (www.etvonline.tv) , the u21 website of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (www.u21.org.hk) and the website for Kowloon City Anti-Crime On-line Learning Programme (www.ilearn.com.hk).

The video shooting competition draws entries from around 100 schools
