Appeal for HKMC stories

After the successful conclusion of the Hong Kong Ministerial Conference (HKMC), members of the Force have accomplished a historical mission. During the event, they planned and implemented security operations with a great sense of dedication, or handled processions and protests with a high degree of professionalism.

On December 17, frontline officers stood up well to the challenges of serious confrontations with protestors, and worked tirelessly and long hours in clearance and arrest operations. And a number of officers were injured in tackling protestors. What happened during the week concerned is a valuable experience officers would cherish for a long time.

After HKMC, we learnt that many colleagues have special feelings about their involvement in HKMC, as well as stories to tell about officers' esprit de corps, courage and perseverance, which deserve our salute. They may also have some interesting anecdotes.

With a view to collecting and maintaining a systematic record of these touching stories, we cordially invite you to share with us your valuable experiences. Your story can be a description or portrayal of your feelings about an individual or an incident (except those related to the pending court case). Relevant photos are also most welcome.

There will be a screening process for contributions, and those selected will be published in Offbeat or POINT for the benefit of all Force members. Stories can be in Chinese or English or both, and there is no limit on their length.

Stories may be submitted in the name of an individual or a Formation. Please email your stories to SIP SUP PPRB Lam Sze-wan at ip-sip-support-pprb@police.gov.hk. We are looking forward to your support.

For enquiries, please contact WSIP Lam on 2860-6199 or SSGT Ha Yick-hang on 2860-6122.
