Fifteen Inspectors (Auxiliary) and 21 Station Sergeants (Auxiliary) passed out recently at Auxiliary Police Headquarters in Kowloon Bay in a joint Passing Out Parade with the Annual Continuation Training of TWDIST AUX. The Reviewing Officer for the parade was Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Commandant Arthur Kwok Chi-shun.

The two promotion courses for the 36 officers on parade are the first conducted by Auxiliary Support Bureau since 1999. The parade not only marks the beginning of a new chapter for the officers, but also the end of their tough training in which they had worked very hard and juggled the training schedules in order to fit with their daytime jobs.

The IP(A) Promotion Course was a 226-hour, non-residential programme held between June 7, 2005 and January 21, 2006 to equip officers with the essential knowledge, skills and leadership for their operational, administrative and managerial roles.

IP (A) Chan Mei-fung was awarded the Baton of Honour and the Commandant's Certificate (Intake Academic Award) at the end of the course.

The 96-hour SSGT(A) Promotion Course was held between October 18, 2005 and January 21, 2006 to provide officers with theoretical, practical and management training on law, police procedures, leadership and team-building. Subjects of Emotional Intelligence, Empathetic Listening and Coaching were also part of the training programme.

SSGT(A) Fong Leung-yuk was awarded the Best SSGT(A) of the course.
