Library wants volunteers

If you are prepared to help Force members cultivate good reading habits, you are just the volunteer workers Friends of the Library Club is looking for. The club is a newly established interest group for Force retirees (both officers and civilian staff) to provide voluntary services to the Force Library.

The Force has invested heavily in library collection and facilities. Located on the 7/F of Arsenal House, the Force Library offers hi-tech computers connected to the Internet, POINT and online library catalogue, as well as a state-of-the-art audio-visual room, in addition to a spacious and comfortable setting and a view of the harbour.

The Force has plans to upgrade the Force Library into a specialised library on applied policing with research capability. In this connection, you can help take the Force Library to new heights.

As members of Friends of the Library Club, you will:

* suggest new titles the Force Library can acquire;

* take part in organising library promotional activities;

* share readings with Force members on strategic topics, and

* provide library services, e.g. counter duties and guided tour.

The Force Library is looking forward to hearing from you on library@police.gov.hk.
