In supporting the One Officer One Sport Scheme organised by the Sport Council, the Police Adventure Club (PAC) will offer 'Free' basic Mountaineering Training to all internal customers. A group of approximately 30 mountaineering leaders will voluntarily assist all Districts in organising basic mountaineering training. The content of training includes map reading, usage of compass, set map, preparation of drink and food, clothes and equipment, route planning, hiking safety and emergency handling, etc. A half day practice will also be arranged.

So far, EU NTS, TWDIST, KWTDIST, WTSDIST, LTDIST, NB and CCB, have benefited from the training. Under this scheme, more than 300 Force members have completed the training in the year.

PAC also arranges Mountaineering Leader training courses. Officers interested in the scheme should pay attention to the PAC advertisement published on the intranet.

They can also contact the Regional Mountaineering Co-ordinators for arrangement.

The names of the Co-ordinators and their contact telephone numbers are available on NoticeBoard.
