Removal Allowance

Question: "I'm Sergeant Lam. In order to improve my living conditions, I shall move to another quarters. Am I eligible for any removal allowance in this case?"

Answer: According to CSR 894, a civil servant may apply for removal allowance when he or she is directed by the Head of Department to move to quarters on operational grounds. In the present case, Sergeant Lam is ineligible for a removal allowance simply because he is not directed to move in the circumstances stipulated under CSR 894.
