PSB officers train in PR and media handling |

A delegation of 24 public security officers from the Mainland, comprising 14 from provinces and major cities, and 10 from the Ministry of Public Security, attended a four-day study course on "Handling of Media and Public Relations" coordinated by the Police College late last month. The delegation was led by Ms Shan Huimin, Director-General of Publicity Bureau, Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security. The opening ceremony of the study course took place at PHQ on August 28, with Director of Personnel and Training Tsang Wai-hung officiating. Police College Deputy Director To Chun-wai presented certificates to the delegates at a graduation ceremony on September 1. The contents of the study course included basic information of the Force's command structure, PR strategy, public relations and media handling skills, working with media and fostering a positive image with the community, and crisis management. During the course, the delegates attended a media-training workshop, and took time off to visit the Police Public Relations Branch, RCCC HKI and Police Museum, as well as government departments, including Information Services Department and Narcotics Division, and a local media organisation.
