Force Sedan Chair Team needs your help

The Police Tactical Unit Headquarters Team will once again represent the Force in the Matilda Hospital Sedan Chair Race. This year the team is anticipating a titanic struggle with the Fire Services Department whom it narrowly defeated last year.

This iconic charity event is taking place at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellet Road, the Peak, at 10 am on Sunday, November 12, and the Force team is hoping to raise record donations for worthy causes.

This gruelling event requires a team of eight persons to carry a sedan chair, with a "live" person in it, around a 3.2-km course. The race forms the focal point for a bazaar with activities for the whole family. The event also provides an opportunity for everyone to help a large number of worthy causes. Please support the team's effort with generous sponsorship.

If you do wish to sponsor the team, make out your cheque payable to "Matilda Charities Fund" and forward it to Chief Inspector Ian Strange at PTU HQ by November 20. Please mark the envelope "Sedan Chair Race". A donation exceeding $100 is tax deductible and receipts will be issued.
