Quality service for car owners |

Here is another example of quality service to the public. A "One-stop-shop" service was introduced on October 1 for vehicle owners to reclaim their cars impounded at the Police Vehicle Pounds in Quarry Bay, Ho Man Tin or Siu Ho Wan. |
Now vehicle owners pay up and reclaim their cars at Police Vehicle Pounds |

The "one-stop-shop" service was tried out at the Ho Man Tin Vehicle Pound in 2005, and this pilot scheme was so successful that the Steering Committee on Force Service Quality subsequently endorsed a recommendation that consideration be given to extend the "one-stop-shop" service to the two other vehicle pounds.
The recommendation was carried out after a Working Group comprising officers from Traffic Branch Headquarters, Information Systems Wing and all traffic formations had further examined the pilot scheme.
As another service enhancement to vehicle owners, a written notice reminding them to reclaim their vehicles before they are liable to pay storage fee, will be issued as soon as a vehicle has been detained in a vehicle pound.
