PSB officers on study visit

A delegation of 18 public security officers from the Mainland, comprising 13 from provinces and major cities, and five from the Ministry of Public Security, looked at matters of education and training management during a 10-day study visit coordinated by the Police College late last month.

The delegation was led by the Deputy Director of Personnel and Training Department, Political Department, the Ministry of Public Security, Mr Sun Jianguo.

Following the opening ceremony of the study visit held in Police Headquarters on October 23 with Director of Personnel and Training Tsang Wai-hung officiating, Mr Sun and his deputies paid a courtesy call on Commissioner Lee Ming-kwai.

The training course for the delegates covered the Force's command structure, training concepts, modern training methodologies, learning theories, management of major disasters, crowd management, stress management and conflict management. The delegates also attended a management exercise in Station Sergeant promotion course, and visited the Marine Headquarters, New Territories North Regional Command and Control Centre, Tai Po Police Station and Police Tactical Unit Headquarters.

At a graduation ceremony on October 31, Police College Director Tse Shu-chun presented certificates to the delegates, who were grateful to the College for all the arrangements made for them.
