The Force's 2005 annual report has been awarded a Honourable Mention in the "Non-profit Making and Charitable Organisations" Category of the 2006 Best Annual Reports Awards Competition organised by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA).

The Principal Information Officer (Publicity and Publications) of the Police Public Relations Branch, Ms Wendy Leung So-ling, received the award on behalf of the Force from HKMA Chairman, Dr David Li Kwok-po.

HKMA has been organising the competition since 1973 to encourage publication of timely, accurate, informative and well-presented annual reports.

The adjudicators for the competition have listed their comments on entries in a comprehensive report.

Referring to employees relations and development, the adjudicators pointed out that the Force is one of the organisations that have widely covered human resources management, staff training and development plans, safety at work as well as staff welfare and benefits.

The Force is also among the organisations that were outstanding in stating their missions and objectives concisely and clearly, and in making good use of pictures to supplement the description of their activities and performance.

On understandability, the adjudicators said that all organisations in the "Non-profit Making and Charitable Organisations" Category, including the Force, did very well in disclosing detailed information in respect of their corporate mission and values, their performance during the year with commentary, and analysis on the overall performance towards meeting their mission and values.
