Attachment to Scotland | ||
Basically, the COMPAX is a project, which takes a focused approach to long-standing and recidivistic problems in Kwai Chung Division. The whole ethos of problem solving policing enlists more assistance from the community and other government departments and provides junior officers with more sense of responsibility and opportunities to further their own careers.
During his attachment, SP Hawkins visited several stations and community-based organisations to study the impact of the Anti-Social Behaviour (Scotland) Act 2004 on policing and community relations. In addition, he also toured the CCTV command centre in Glasgow, a divisional domestic violence unit and the Family Liaison Unit.
SP Hawkins came away with a few ideas to further not only the Kwai Chung community project but also a number of topical Force issues.
