SDU looks for suitable candidates |
||
The Special Duties Unit (SDU) is now inviting Inspectors and Senior Inspectors to attend the SDU selection scheduled for November 2007. With a view to attracting and selecting suitable candidates, SDU is offering a six-month physical fitness-training programme, starting on April 14. The programme will consist of a series of training sessions and seminars at the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters on Saturday mornings in the second and fourth weeks of each month. Attendance will be regarded as a duty commitment. The seminars will cater specifically for officers anxious to join SDU and will offer potential candidates the following benefits: (a) A structured and comprehensive physical training course to better prepare them for the rigours of selection and training. (b) Opportunity to learn more about SDU. (c) Advice on how to improve overall personal fitness. At this stage it is anticipated that there will be a quota of 15 officers for the programme all of whom will be medically examined prior to commencement of training. Application forms are available from the Force NoticeBoard. Alternatively officers with enquiries about the programme or SDU recruitment may contact the SDU Training Team at 2669-6277 or e-mail ip-sip-10-sdu.
