The Force Library on 7th floor, Arsenal House, will hold its first Open Day on Thursday and Friday, March 29 and 30 from 9 am to 7 pm. On the two days, guided tours, each lasting 15 minutes, will be conducted at 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm. No booking for the guided tours is necessary. Visitors are requested just to gather at the library entrance. In addition, there will be a 45-minute daily orientation session at 1:15 pm and 5:15 pm on how to use the library catalogue and electronic databases. Prior telephone booking is required. Call 2860-2269 or 2860-2270 for reservation. Meanwhile, the Force Library is running a quiz for its Open Day event. The first 10 entries providing the corrrect answers to the following questions will each receive a $200 book coupon. The deadline for entries is April 4. Answers should be sent to, library@police.gov.hk, or by fax 2200-4384 or through internal dispatch to "Force Library Open Day Quiz, Force Library, 7th floor, Arsenal House, Wanchai", together with name, UI, rank, post, formation, and telephone number. Enquiries can be made at 2860-2271 or 2860-2268. Q1: Find a book published in 2005 about how to handle hostage and crisis negotiations for the police. Provide its title, author and Force Library call number. Q2: Find A-V material which teaches law enforcement agents to perfect their skills in surveillance. State what kind of A-V material it is and its call number in the Force Library. Q3: Find an article from "Criminal Justice eCollection" about fatal traffic crash cases in Hong Kong between 1996 and 2000. Give full citation, i.e. author, title of article, title of journal, volume and issue numbers, and pagination. Q4: Find a book in Chinese (translated from English) on triads in Hong Kong published in 2003 and written by a former judge in Hong Kong. Give its title, author, publisher, and Force Library call number. Q5: Find a "Research Document" from the library catalogue on, among other things, job satisfaction in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force. State its title, author, year of publication, and call number. Q6: Find out the author of the article, "Crime Scene Investigation", in the "Encyclopedia of Law Enforcement" in the "Criminal Justice eCollection" subset - "Gale Virtual Reference Library" and the number of pages the original article has.
