Public satisfaction with the Force has risen, according to the latest survey findings of the Hong Kong University's Public Opinion Programme (POP). The findings have been released at the "HKU POP SITE" (http://hkupop.hku.hk). Analysing the survey findings at the website, POP Director Robert Ting-Yiu Chung said an increase had been registered for the Force, with a satisfaction rate of 80 per cent. He added: "Compared with three months ago, people's satisfaction with the Hong Kong Police Force has increased significantly, while their dissatisfaction has dropped to a record low since the survey began in July 1997." The POP's opinion poll was conducted between March 19 and 21, covering public satisfaction with the performances of Legislative Council members in general, the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong garrison and the Force.
