WDIST anti-triad officers

Chairman of Southern District Council

Following the arrest of over 20 suspected triad members in the Southern District and students with a triad background, as well as the seizure of a large quantity of weapons and dangerous drugs, the Chairman, on behalf of the District Council, wrote to CP to thank WDIST anti-triad officers for their efforts to clamp down on growing triad activities.

Frontier Closed Area residents living in Ta Kwu Ling

The residents expressed worries that law and order problems might arise if there was a laxity in FCA management. On the other hand, the residents praised Closed Area Permits Office officers for discharging their duties and strictly adhering to the guidelines and instructions for screening applications for Closed Area Permits. Under the leadership of SIP Tam Man-hoi, the officers are meticulous with their work and serve the public with enthusiasm.

Motorist

The motorist had his car damaged in North Point, but following investigation by SIP Kong and PC Chan, two suspects were charged with criminal damage, prompting the motorist to write to praise the officers for their efficiency and sense of responsibility in handling his case.

French visitor

A taxi driver found a rucksack containing a video camera, a camera, a map, sunglasses and some miscellaneous items left in his car and handed in the articles at Aberdeen Police Station. CA Lo then sent PEN messages to all report rooms and finally located the owner, a French visitor to Hong Kong, who sent a thank you postcard to Ms Lo upon his return to Paris.

Resident

The resident found her mobile phone missing while shopping in Tsuen Wan and was worrying that her personal particulars might be misused, when an officer from PTU A informed her that a suspect had been arrested and asked her to identify her property. In a letter to the police, the resident said this case boosted her confidence in the Force's efficiency.

Taxi driver

The taxi driver was assaulted by a lorry driver without any good reason in Mong Kok. On seeing this, PC Kwok, who was off duty, went to the taxi driver's aid and apprehended the assailant. After the assailant was convicted of criminal damage and assault by the court, the taxi driver wrote to DVC TSDIV, thanking PC Kwok for upholding justice.

Motorist

The motorist's car was involved in a collision with a tramcar, but due to lack of experience, he did not know how to have the accident resolved. He then called up HKI T, where PC Tong, though not being the investigating officer, went to great lengths in answering the motorist's questions about investigation procedures, civil action and law, etc. Later with the help of PC Chui, the case was resolved satisfactorily. In a letter to CP, the motorist said he takes pride in Hong Kong having very fine police officers like PCs Tong and Chui.

Association of Parents Fighting for Right of Abode in Hong Kong

In a letter to CP, the association thanked officers of PCRO CDIST for their assistance for the some 750 processions and rallies of various scales the association held to make their demands known over the past eight years. On all those occasions, the officers were very helpful, listened to association members' views and offered valuable advice, greatly relieving the association members' stress and anxiety.
