A total of 51 Inspectorate officers and supervisors handling matters related to covert surveillance from various units in Mong Kok District, attended an experience sharing and training session on the Interception of Communication and Surveillance Ordinance on April 3. Conducted by Chief Inspector Lau Yat-pang from Criminal Intelligence Bureau and Chief Inspector Lee Wai-man from the Kowloon West Regional Crime Unit 5, the half-day session placed emphasis on the procedures concerning the application and processing of both Type 2 Covert Surveillance and Covert Surveillance without Device Authorisations. The audience showed a great interest in the guest speakers' presentations, which were interactive in nature, and had a free exchange of views and experience. In particular, they found the Q & A session useful. The training session not only updated the audience on covert surveillance, but also clarified some related procedural matters.
