CPB runs training course for PCRO staff |
||
The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) has designed a modular course to bolster Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) staff's knowledge of crime prevention. Being interesting, informative and relevant to PCRO staff's routine work, the modules of the course will be offered in succession to about 200 PCRO staff members. The training course is to be conducted with a modular system and will comprise 10 modules with each module lasting half a day. The design of the course is such that officers will be able to complete it flexibly over a longer period of time. The subjects of the course will cover the Privacy Commissioner's guidelines for requiring a Hong Kong Identity Card to be produced as proof of identity for entering a private building, a visit to a Central Alarm Monitoring Station and a cash-in-transit facility, etc. A ceremony was held on March 28 to mark commencement of the training course, with Chief Superintendent (Crime Support) Ng Kam-wing officiating. In a short speech, he welcomed PCRO staff attending the course and encouraged them to further improve their services by acquiring more professional knowledge from the course. Mr Ng also presented Certificates of Appreciation to guest lecturers of the course and complimented them and officers for their contributions to the course.
