Retired Chief Inspector Lau Kai-fat passed away on April 19 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital due to illness.

Funeral service was held on May 7, followed by cremation at Cape Collision Crematorium.

Mr Lau joined the Force in 1952 and had mainly worked in Marine Region and Police Public Relations Branch. He retired in 1988.

He had served the Hong Kong Marine Police Retiree's Association as vice chairman for 10 years, showing a lot of enthusiasm in serving association members.

Mr Lau will be remembered with fondness and respect by many who have known him.
