Mentorship Programme ends on a high note |
||
Following a visit to Police Tactical Unit Headquarters on June 16, a closing ceremony was held there to mark the successful conclusion of the Police Mentorship Programme 2006/07. Officiating at the ceremony were Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Tang Kam-moon and New Territories North Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah, who is the Head Mentor of the programme. Speaking at the ceremony, both Mr Tang and Mr Cheung reminded the Mentees that they are opening a new chapter of their lives in preparing to take up employment. Mr Tang, referring to the Chief Executive's election slogan, encouraged the Mentees "to get the job done" whether they will join the Force or start a career in other professions. He also spoke highly of their dedication and contribution to the mentorship programme. At the same time, Mr Cheung advised the Mentees "never be afraid of doing more than what is expected from you, and to seize every opportunity to project yourself". The ceremony continued thereafter with games, a video show, and notes of thanks by three Mentees to their Mentors. Before the event concluded, Mentee representatives from the universities presented to their Mentors and VIP guests from the universities, a Yearbook and a DVD, both of which highlight their unforgettable moments with the mentorship programme.
