CCB complimented for cracking major fraud

The Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) has earned the compliments of a number of insurance companies for cracking a complex insurance fraud last year.

The investigations by CCB officers subsequently led to six persons being convicted by the District Court for conspiring to defraud four insurance companies of $32 million. The defendants were jailed for three to five years. The conviction owes much to CCB's expeditious and successful investigation, as well as adoption of a multi-agency and intelligence-led strategy.

Representatives of the insurance companies concerned called at CCB on July 6 and presented a wooden plaque and a crystal stand as tokens of their gratitude. A senior official from the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance was present at the presentation.

Another public compliment for CCB officers
