Community backs CDIST fight crime drive |

Central District (CDIST), in conjunction with the Central & Western District Fight Crime Committee, Central & Western District Council and Central & Western District Office, launched a fight crime publicity campaign on the platform of "The Center" in Queen's Road, Central on July 14. At the launching ceremony, members of the Central District Junior Police Call performed street dramas to disseminate messages of preventing deception and taking care of personal belongings at public places. Officiating at the ceremony were Central District Commander Wong Chi-hung; Vice-chairman of the Central & Western District Council, Mr Wu Chor-nam; Chairman of the Central & Western District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Yip Wing-shing, and Assistant District Officer of the Central & Western District Office, Miss Vivien Li. Immediately after the ceremony, Mr Wong, Central Divisional Commander Lee Wing-kong and Waterfront Divisional Commander Kan Tat-on, each led a team comprising local dignitaries and members of the "Central Power", a police volunteer service team in CDIST, to distribute fight crime leaflets at shops, restaurants and to pedestrians in the vicinity.
