The Force signed an agreement with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) Trading Fund at PHQ on August 1 for the department to provide maintenance of police non-vehicle engineering systems and equipment over the next six financial years.

Signing the "Contract for Maintenance of Non-vehicle Engineering Systems and Equipment of Hong Kong Police Force" were Deputy Commissioner (Management) Fung Siu-yuen and Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr Ho Kwong-wai.

Under the agreement, effective from April 1 this year to March 31, 2013, EMSD will provide various services for the Force, including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, at the cost of about $110 million per year.
