Two representatives from the Key Points and Search Division (KPS) attended the Sixth National Conference on Search and Security Screening in Shenzhen from September 3 to 7 at the invitation of the Ministry of Public Security.

Superintendent George Lee Kiu-ki, SP KPS (Designate), and Police Search Advisor Senior Inspector Angus Choy Chun-wah attended the national conference to share their experience in the planning, search operations and security screening for "The Tenth Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSARG" held in Hong Kong between June and July this year. The conference attracted the attendance by over 130 delegates from different Public Security Bureaux on the Mainland as well as the commissioners from the Ministry of Public Security and the General Office of the State Council.

At the conference SP Lee and SIP Choy introduced the overall security concept; search, guard plan and screening arrangement; search equipment and contingency plan, etc for the HKSARG Tenth Anniversary. The delegates also exchanged their experience from the cases they had handled.

SP Lee pointed out that the conference not only enhanced the communications among the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, but also raised one another's standard of search and security screening technique. He hoped that professional and high standard search and security screening capability would meet the requirements of the international conferences and sports events to be held on the Mainland in the years to come.

SP Lee's presentation on the Force's experience of search and security screening is well received by the audience
