The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, presented honours and awards to 269 recipients at the annual ceremony at Government House on October 27. A total of 28 serving and retired members of the Force were among the recipients to receive the Gold Bauhinia Star, Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Chief Executive's Commendation for Government Service.

The Gold Bauhinia Star was awarded to former Commissioner, Mr Lee Ming-kwai.

Heading the police award list were Director of Personnel and Training, Mr Tang Hau-sing; Director of Operations, Mr Tsang Wai-hung; Kowloon West Regional Commander, Mr Lo Yik-kee, and Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Mr Koo Sii-hong, all presented with the Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
