The Police College's Mobile Training Team continued to share its expertise in practical tactics with Public Security Bureau (PSB) officers and instructors in Liaoning Province in September this year as Deputy Commissioner (Management) Fung Siu-yuen paid an official visit to the province with a four-member delegation.

The delegation comprised Director of Personnel and Training Tang Hau-sing, Central District Commander Wong Chi-hung, Force Training Officer Cheung Kam-chuen and Superintendent Cho Ming-lung from the Business Services Bureau of Information Systems Wing.

During their visit, Mr Fung and the delegation members called at the law enforcement units in Shenyang, Dalian, Dandong and Anshan. They also took time to visit the Mobile Training Team as it conducted a training exchange at the Liaoning Police Officers' Professional Training School in Dalian.

At a ceremony marking conclusion of the exchange on September 14, Mr Fung presented certificates of attendance to 90 PSB officers and 12 PSB instructors coming from different cities in Liaoning. The PSB officers are expected to pass on what they have learned from the Mobile Training Team to their colleagues.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Fung congratulated the officers and thanked the Ministry of Public Security for having faith in, and recognising, the Force's practical training. He emphasised that he and his colleagues would continue to make more contributions to the personal training for PSB officers.

Led by Superintendent Lee Yeung-chi from the Weapons Training Division, the Mobile Training Team comprised Chief Inspector Sham Wai-hong and Sergeants Lee Siu-wah, Chan Wai-che and Chan Wai-ming. To make the most of the limited time of a five-day training course, they conducted training sessions in three evenings, enriching the course content. Their professionalism and devotion to duties earned the high regard of many PSB officers.

During the training exchange, the Mobile Training Team members introduced the safety requirements for using colour marker ammunition in training, as well as the safety and objectives for arranging tactical training. They also demonstrated how to make a more realistic training setting in gymnasiums, carparks and basketball courts, etc. by making wooden planks and canvass as barricades and covers. Many PSB officers found this arrangement very impressive.
